I put ruffles on my ruffles!

My Simplicity 2892 review posted to PatternReview.com:
Pattern Description: Misses' tops with neckline variations and tie belt

Pattern Sizing: Size H5 6-14. I made a 10 because I think there is too much ease built in.

Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? I think so.

Were the instructions easy to follow? Yes.

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? Lots of pieces to cut for such a simple top. The gathered yoke could be simplified.

Fabric Used: Lightweight cotton printed dotted swiss.

Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: None.

Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? Yes. This was an easy, casual top, and I'm pleased with the result. May be frustrating to those who don't have much gathering experience.

Conclusion: Great pattern! The tedious gathering was worth the effort, as was the ruffle trim.

back - with tie belt

front - no tie belt

Oh, the gathering!

I LOVE it Amy, it looks great!! I really like the print of the one on the pattern package too. I'm sure I could learn a ton of sewing tricks from you. I think I'm about ready to dust off my machine. We should have a sewing day...now that both my kiddos will be in school all day! (sniff sniff)

Great job!
