It's just a matter of time, especially when you have a boy, right? Ethan slipped on the stairs, splitting his browbone.
He was stunned, and I had to make a conscious effort to hide my freak-out about the open wound and blood pouring down the side of his face. Thankfully, Randy was on his way home from the airport, so all I had to do was clean him up, find our first aid supplies, and figure out where to send him.
Lesson learned: our nearest urgent care facility would not do stitches on a child's face, so he was sent to the emergency room. He reported that there are video games and tv shows at the hospital, and he returned home with 6 stitches and a parting gift.

Recovering nicely, Ethan has asked me to accompany him on the steps only a couple of times.

Poor little guy! And poor momma!! One of the hardest jobs as a mom is controlling the 'freak out'. I think an academy award should be given to all moms...especially those with boys.
Glad he's doing better!
