The children were swimming today when Ethan stood up on the step, waved his hand and said, "These sea horses keep biting me." Ellie stood up beside him and said, "Not sea horses! (long pause) Sea flies!" She than proceeded to slap Ethan on the side of the head as she shouted, "Shoo fly! Shoo fly!" He did not even react to the slap to the head. Instead, he walked over to me and asked sweetly, "Mommy, why these sea horses keep biting me?"
I haven't googled it yet, but if anyone has deterrent tips for our sea horse problem, please let me know!
Later, I returned from a hair appointment and tucked the children in.
Me: Good night!
Ellie: Good night!
Me: Sleep tight!
Ellie: Sleep tight!
Me: Don't let the bed bugs bite!
Ellie: You're just teasing me, right?

Amy, this post literally made me laugh out loud!
And don't you know I'll be checking my bed for sea horses tonight.
Are they talking about horse flies? We sure have those around the pool every summer, but we've learned NOT to have fresh mulch delivered anywhere around pool time... they "hatch" out of it!
