Getting it together

My ladies' Bible study started up for the fall. I have been telling myself that THIS is the year I would get us there on time, THIS is the year I would be totally prepared with my detailed and well-thought out lessons each week, THIS is the year I would have on a matched outfit and makeup every time.

Ellie woke up at the crack of dawn and appeared in my bed. (I've taught her how to push the snooze button on the alarm clock, which is nice, so I don't have to reach for it.) We snuggled and tickled and laughed. It was still early! We got up; I took a shower, dressed, and put on makeup, while Ellie put her own clothes on. We got Ethan out of his room, then had breakfast and coffee. I put some ponytails in Ellie's hair. Yeah! Still going to be, dare I say, early?!? Let the dogs out, dressed Ethan. Everyone was looking good and in good spirits. Shoes on, then out the door we went. There was the usual controversy around the necessity for carseats and seat belts, but it didn't last long. We were on our way!!!
Whoo-hoo!

We pulled into the parking lot, parked a million miles away from the entrance and hustled in (we lost a time somewhere between the garage door and the church).
As we crossed the parking lot, I realized that I forgot to bring to Bible study

my
Bible.

Sigh!
