More culinary adventures

A while back, I asked Ellie if she wanted to help me bake bread. She squealed, clapped and exclaimed, "I yoooooove to cook!"

Her favorite part was kneading the dough.

My favorite part was putting it in the oven to be done with it.

I used Carpoolqueen's "foolproof" recipe, which may be foolproof, but not warming drawer-proof. That will be my story.
~
If the bread experiment was about process instead of product, I knew a surefire winner for our next attempt - Monkey Bread! It's super simple, especially with this recipe from Beach Brights and Laurel, and I knew that my babies could shake it like a Polaroid picture.

We eagerly awaited the reveal, and I tried to get past the burning sugar/butter puddles on the oven floor.

Ta-da! Oops! It's not done in the middle yet, yet it's overflowing on top. Then I split it into 2 pans and got a mess, or technically, a hot mess
overdone on the bottom, still mushy in the middle.
Lastly, when you send a man to the store, what does he bring home?

Crawfish, of course.
