Apparently, this post may not have been completely clear to everyone. To avoid any ambiguity, yes, I am pregnant! Until the doctor tells me otherwise, we're not making definite plans for Thanksgiving travel this year.
Here's a sampling of what I've heard since becoming pregnant:
2) From Randy to the grocery bagger: "Conrad, now THAT'S a great name!" Sigh.
3) From a friend who may prefer to remain anonymous: "What did Randy say when he found out? Did he swear? My husband swore!" For the record, he said, "Just call your doctor. You said it was an old test." Expired 4 years ago!
4) From a fellow shopper: "Is it a summer baby?" What?!? I was not even showing yet!!
5) From my new hairstylist on my first visit: TMI about her pregnancy loss and subsequent high-risk pregnancy and difficult delivery.
6) From Randy while applying sunscreen to Ellie and Ethan: "Oh, man! If we have a white baby, we'll have to cover every square inch of it in sunscreen all the time!" He's hoping for some of his grandfather's Native American genes.
7) From another host parent: "You're with child? Honey, she's with child. That's great that you're with child!" I'm always with child(ren). Never alone.
8) From Ethan: "I will help throw the diapers away!" Yes! A helper!
9) From Ellie: "I want to snuggle and hold the baby and feed the baby!" Sweet!
10) "Mommy, I see your baby getting bigger!"
Since I've spent the last 25 years hiding my stomach, you won't see a belly shot here. Britney can be my stand-in:
