Ellie and I had a fun, girls-only trip this weekend. It was the first time that she and I have spent the night away from Ethan, so I wasn't sure what to expect. As it turns out, she's a fantastic travel companion. I get to choose the music in the car, and there's no criticism of my driving. Really, the only car issues are having to reach back every so often to hand piggy or a toy to her. As for the hotel, though, she wanted to go "night-night" in the closet behind the sliding mirrored doors. She also wanted to hide in all of the little corners of the room.
Another first on this trip: Ellie woke up much, much earlier than normal and climbed out of the Pack & Play. I was slowly waking up when I heard a thump followed by little footsteps. She appeared right beside my bed! At least I talked her into cuddling for a few minutes before she started running around the hotel room saying, "Go, Juice, Eat!"
To summarize our trip (at least the travel part), we saw a lot of

(Of course, it's difficult to meet my high standards for photography when driving in a 70 mph zone.)
More on the trip (and what we missed at home) later.
