My sweet husband, bless his heart, likes to make random solo stops for grocery items - items that are not on my usual list. For example, he makes a regular visit to Whole Foods for some kind of special bulk granola that he likes to mix with cereal and Craisins for breakfast. I, on the other hand, don't understand why he won't just eat plain Cheerios like the rest of us. Therefore, it didn't surprise me too much to find this in the pantry one day.
What surprised me is that he bought something that has a label we can't read! Clearly these green olives have pits. We decided a while ago that it's a mistake to buy green olives with pits because it is so labor-intensive and messy to remove the pits before applying the olive pieces to our homemade pizza. Why did he buy these and what's so special that makes the pits tolerable? I don't know because it's in another language!! He doesn't know either.
Me: "It looks like these olives have pits. Did you know that? Why did you get them?"
Him: "I know, but they must be really, really good olives!"
Apparently, items purchased in a deli shop specializing in ethnic foods have more street cred in his book. We'll see.

How funny! My son is like that, too. He is sooo into other cultures, so whenever we see something like that, he wants to get it & try it out. lol
Thanks for stopping by my blog. I'm looking forward to reading yours! :)
I love the pits! Hehe!
I love any kind of olives, but I agree, for pizza, that would be way to time consuming!
