I had a cold and 2 unfortunate pregnancy-induced cankles episodes, so I picked up the knitting needles again. Weeks of 95 degree weather (at least that's what it seems like) must have helped to inspire this recent flurry of activity.
Kidlet Tank: Ellie keeps calling it a dress, so I'm hopeful about styling it with leggings and an undershirt for fall.
Ethan and I had a "mommy date" a few weeks ago. When we pulled into the yarn shop parking lot, I told him, "Don't worry, this won't take long." He sweetly answered, "You can stay here a long time, Mommy." He started wandering around touching yarn and talking about the hat he has been asking me to knit for him for a long time. He selected orange yarn for the project and seems to be happy with the result! Now he keeps talking about a blue sweater. .
Ellie kept hearing about Ethan's hat, so she decided that she wanted a new hat, too. She approved the pattern, Ribby Toque from Knitscene Winter/Spring 2010, chose the yarn, then refused to model the finished hat.
It fits me, too!
This time I've been highly motivated to finish projects that have been set aside for most of the summer. The February Lady Sweater's body is complete, a 95% completed gift is now 100% finished, ends have been woven in for a couple of items - finishing projects feels so good! Sewing buttons on the Best Friend Cardigan remains on the to do list.
Have you finished a lingering project lately?

Wow! You have been very busy!! I'm so impressed as I would not know where to even begin. What a good feeling!!
I started a scarf last week that's halfway done. I hadn't picked up my needles in so long that I felt like I needed to do something quick and easy to remind myself how to knit.
I want to do something more complex but find myself flipping over those pages in the knitting books saying, "Too hard, too hard."
