You and cell phones . . . what happened to the last one you had? I can't remember, but I guess that the rice would absorb the moisture, but I would highly suggest removing the battery and the back of the phone before putting it into the rice. The outside of the phone is relatively sturdy, it's the inside parts that can't get wet!
So far, so good, but I should have removed the battery, as Kathie suggested. Water ran over it, but it wasn't immersed. Of course, every time it acts up, I wonder if it's becasue of the water exposure.
lol! My daughter said we should try this after we washed her cell phone (and found it the next day). I told her it might work for spills but not for Tide and Downey!
