I haven't had a lot to say here on the blog this week because I've been busy dog nursing (a spoonful of sugar doesn't help), child tending, closet cleaning, knitting, sewing, and pondering my Census questionnaire. It's only supposed to take 10 minutes, so why does the race question for the children have me so stumped? According to the Census Bureau's definition of race, it's based on self-identification. Four year olds don't self-identify for race, unless you fill in "princess" and "monster truck driver." Isn't the main point of the Census proportional Congressional representation anyway? For that matter, doesn't a household member here on a student visa skew those numbers? Never thought about all of this last time.

If this post had a big "Like" button I would so be hitting it right now. :)
Our family's race is obvious, but it should not matter or be a part of the census. On our form, we checked "Other" for all family members and wrote in "American".
Maybe "Child of God" would be even more appropriate for your children.
Don't lick the glue on the envelope! It went to the lowest bidder and it tastes nasty.
I think you should write in princess and monster truck driver!
Reminds me...we need to do our census form. We just got a reminder today...In big letters it says "It's the Law."
