The children were very excited about going for their check-ups - once I confirmed that there would be no shots. Even after discussing it, they continued to ask about shots for the duration of the drive to the doctor's office.
The children were also very excited about a potty visit at the doctor's office. Does this mean that we're getting into that phase where they will ask to go wherever we are - just to see the bathroom? Of course, I wish someone had told me when we arrived that they would like to collect samples.
The nurse checked their vision using an eye chart with shapes instead of letters and numbers. I guess the children are a combined 20/20, since they answered all of the questions as a team. The particulars of handling 2 at a time need to be refined. Maybe they should have been given buzzers, like on Jeopardy, as they tended to shout out the answers.
Aren't the gowns cute? They were on for about 2 minutes. The children have no modesty concerns. I only accepted them because I thought they would enjoy wearing them, since they wore bathrobes one recent, chilly evening after a "shower-bath."
The summary: Super short wait, compared to last time. Ellie has large tonsils - no biggie, yet. Bandaids for the needle stick were well-received. One out of two urine samples ain't bad, apologies to Meat Loaf. I didn't get answers to all of my questions because I was distracted by the children, the doctor's call that interruped our visit, and the idea that our doctor reminded me of Stanley from The Office - voice, demeanor, everything.
When we were telling Randy about our visit to the doctor, he asked Ethan how much he weighs. His answer? "Fourteen-eighteen," which is correct. 14+18 = 32 pounds
