1st day of preschool

Now that I have our bread and milk, I'll take a break from battening down the hatches to share a brief report on the first official day of preschool.

Ellie was all smiles getting ready for school, and she posed nicely for my pictures. Awww, she looks like such a big girl, doesn't she?

Ethan was wound up! He ran around in circles on the way to the car. I naively thought that the children might stand together (and even hold hands?) for a second, so that I could capture the big event on film (or in pixels, I guess).

Uh oh! Ellie started asking, "Mommy coming?" on the way to school. "Yes, Mommy is coming to school to drop you off!" That was not the right answer because she cried when the car pool line lady came to get her. Ethan, on the other hand, flashed a huge smile, waved, and said, "Bye, Mommy!" as he held the car pool line lady's hand on the way in.

Here they are on the way out after the first day. Everyone is happy! I didn't get much feedback from the children on what they did, though. "Goldfish snack" and "yellow" is all they wanted to share.

Ellie is the star student next week, so I need to come up with some big plans - the first full week and I have homework!
