My BFF, Nester, (well, not really) is at it again, this time on the subject of fake greenery or florals.
I know it's so wrong, but my great room armoire just looked so naked without anything on top. This was supposed to be temporary until I figure out what belongs here. That's a lot of wall space. The suggestion box is open!
Ok, another naked armoire. I like this greenery much better, though, because it doesn't look quite as GREEN and shiny. Also, it's in a pretty, shiny, dark brown basket, and the scale is better in this room. Is it a keeper in this spot? How about this mini arrangement? I was proud of myself a few years ago when I put this together. I think it's a keeper for this year (natural - in nature - colors, non-shiny leaves), but would like to hear your comments.

Great title!!!!!
Hi I'm here for the POOPIE parade! I think yours look cute. Not objectionable at all. BTW Your blog is darling! See you again~Aimee
I hear what you are saying...what else can we put on top of amoires and such that will last. Yours are beautiful! Stay in touch!
I am not offended by anything in this post, lol ;) This is fun!
Nice to meet you,
Bella
Ok, the nap story about Ellie cracked me up! I know it is not funny when it is happening at the time but you do have to give the girl credit for her creativity. I love the fact that she put on a swim diaper. LOVE IT!
Ok, on to the armoire. I had the same issue with our armoire in the family room. Lots of wall space. I am not one to put lots of nick nacks, etc. I tried greenery for a while and then I saw in a magazine....A very large...I am talking large....basket. I searched and searched for just the right size. Found one at Home Goods. So that is what is on top of my armoire. If I get organized, I will take a pic and post it on my blog. But don't hold your breath. And about the greenery...be careful! Check out Gretchen's blog. She cracked me up today with her rules of greenery.
Thanks, ladies, for the support!! I know I can do better, though.
Suz, Ellie found the swim diaper in the suitcase I haven't unpacked yet from our beach trip!! When I came upstairs, I had one of those, "I can't believe this is happening" moments. Of course, I ran back downstairs to get the camera before investigating further.
I'd love to see a picture of your basket! That would be nice in my spot, too! I read Gretchen's post, and she slapped me through the internet (even though I'm part of the IRL friend exemption, right?). No new greenery is my current stance. I saw huge wagon wheels at Big Lots (the icky one near me, not the nice one near you!) the other day. Maybe that has some potential somehow. . . Over the kitchen sink?
Not offended by any of it, in fact sooooo jealous! I don't have THAT kind of room on top of MY ARMOIRE(which I hear are the NEW decorating Dinosaurs) and I still have a bunch of stuff up there, along with some fake plant in a crock to go with the other crocks, to go with the swan, to go with the clock, to go with the pumpkins...wait, how DID those get up there??? Oh, HONEY?!?!?!?!
Yep...my husband BELIEVES this is where we should display our NEWLY GROWN PUMPKINS till Fall Arrives....that's like TWO WEEKS away?!?!?!
Don't feel bad...that's why we join up at Nester's Blog...to enjoy the POOPIE Parties, and other IDHTBPTBB ideas!
